Greek Italy. Etruria, Populonia. AR 5-Asses, 3rd century BC. Obv. Owl with closed wings, standing left; in left field, V. Dotted border. Rev. Blank. Vecchi EC I, 94 (unrecorded die); HN Italy 225; Sambon 32. . AR. 1.77 g. 11.50 mm. RRR. Extremely rare, apparently only the sixth known example, and one of just four in private hands. In superb condition for the issue and prettily toned, with dark spots. About EF.
