Greek Italy. Southern Lucania, Metapontum. AR Nomos, c. 540-510 BC. Obv. Ear of barley with eight grains; [MET]A in right field. Rev. Incuse ear of barley with eight grains. Noe Class VI, 125; SNG ANS 215; HN Italy 1479; SNG Lloyd 304. AR. 8.19 g. 27.50 mm. A pleasant example. Some flatness of strike, lovely even grey toning, with golden hues around the devices. Good VF.
