Isaac II, Angelus (1185-1195). EL Aspron Trachy, Constantinople mint. Obv. MP-ΘV across upper field. The Theotokos enthroned facing, holding head of the Holy Infant on lap. Rev. ICAAKIOC ΔEC. Isaac standing facing, holding cross-tipped sceptre in right hand and akakia in left, being crowned by St. Michael the Archangel, holding jeweled sceptre. D.O. 2c; Sear 2002. EL. 4.17 g. 29.50 mm. Good metal and broad flan. A choice example, nicely toned, with reddish hues. About EF/EF.
