Bust of Christ facing, nimbus cruciger behind head, holding book of Gospels; IC-XC across fields, pellets within double border around. Rev. + IΩANHC ΔECΠOTIC O ΠΑΛЄΟΛΟΓOC / ΘV XAPITI AVTOKPATOP in double line, within circular borders, around bust of John VIII facing, crowned and wearing loros. Sear 2564. AR. 6.67 g. 23.00 mm. Scarce. Of crude style. Lovely iridescent tone, with reddish hues. Good VF.
