Faustina II, wife of Marcus Aurelius (died 176 AD). AE Sestertius, struck under Marcus Aurelius. Obv. FAVSTINA AVGVSTA. Draped bust right. Rev. MATRI MAGNAE SC. Cybele, holding drum, seated right, between two lions. RIC III (M. Aurel.) 1663; C. 169. AE. 30.35 g. 32.00 mm. R. Rare. Struck on a broad and thick flan, with a lovely delicate portrait of fine style. Glossy deep brown patina, gently smoothed. Good VF.
