Greece. Thessaly, Larissa. AR Stater, c. 356-342 BC. Obv. Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, wearing plain necklace and drop pendant earring, her hair held by an ampyx; border of dots. Rev. ΛAP above, IΣ downwards to the right, AIΩN below, bridled horse trotting right, tail upright and looped. See L. Hamburger 98 (3 April 1933) 545 (same dies). See Triton XV, 307 (same dies). AR. g. 12.09 mm. 25.00 RRR. EF/Good EF. Extremely rare for reverse letters disposition. A lovely example, well struck in good silver, brilliant and lightly toned.
